“Anything’s Possible / Daisuke Tanabe Remix” is a double-single featuring US rapper Voice Monet and a remix from Japanese musician Daisuke Tanabe who places his stamp on a classic zero dB track.

Originally released on 2006’s ‘Bongos, Bleeps & Basslines’ via Ninja Tune and zero dB’s own imprint Fluid Ounce, the seminal album has now been re-released by Tru Thoughts. “Anything’s Possible feat. Voice” shows the versatility of zero dB’s debut – not only as a record that will go down in proto-jazz history – but also an album featuring three strong hip-hop tracks, of which “Anything’s Possible feat. Voice” sits at the top.

Daisuke Tanabe’s Remix of “Anything’s Possible” was originally commissioned for ‘Heavyweight Gringos (Bongos, Bleeps & Basslines Remixed)’ only for Tanabe’s remix of “Know What I’m Sayin’?” featuring rapper Pase Rock (part of US hip-hop group Five Deez) to make the final cut. Explaining how the remix commission came about, zero dB explain: “I asked a lot of the Fluid Ounce artists if they’d be up for remixing the album. I signed Daisuke Tanabe to Fluid Ounce for three releases after coming across him at a CDR club night at Plastic People. Gilles Peterson got him to remix a release on Brownswood shortly after.”
